Steven Buck, President and Chief Executive Officer, Care Providers Oklahoma joined the association in March 2020 after working as the executive director of Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA). Steven concurrently served as Gov. Kevin Stitt’s secretary of human services and early childhood initiatives. Stitt appointed Buck to that position in February 2019. Buck joined OJA in February 2016 after years of service at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. In addition to his role at OJA, Buck also served as Gov. Mary Fallin’s health and human services secretary from November, 2017 through January, 2019. He was the only Fallin cabinet member to be retained in Stitt’s initial cabinet.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Buck serves as the Vice Chair of the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority, Vice President of Lynn Institute on Health Research Board of Directors, and Board Chairman of Course for Change. He also serves on the board of Hope Rising Oklahoma and as an elder at the Springs Church of Christ.

Buck and his wife Lisa have six children and two grandchildren. They are co-owners of MentaliTEA and Coffee in Bethany, OK.
